Contract History

If you are interested in trading U.S. Dollar futures it is helpful to become familiar with the history of the U.S. Dollar market. The ICE Futures U.S. Dollar Index (USDX®), is a leading benchmark for the international value of the US dollar and the world's most widely-recognized, publicly-traded currency index.

By using the Dollar Index, traders can take advantage of moves in the value of the US dollar relative to a basket of world currencies or can hedge their portfolio of assets against the risk of a move in the US dollar in a single transaction.

US Dollar Index futures are traded for 22 hours a day on the electronic trading platform of the IntercontinentalExchange (ICE).

Commodity trading is not suitable for everyone. The risk of loss in trading can be substantial. When trading futures and/or options, it is possible to lose more than the full value of your account. All funds committed should be risk capital. Carefully consider the inherent risks of such an investment in light of your financial condition. Past results are not necessarily indicative of future results. Please do your own research before investing in the futures market. This site contains no investment recommendations.
